Day 3 - PARIS!!!

Seeing as most of Day 2 was spent travelling between countries, I figured it was a bit pointless dedicating an entire blog to it! So instead, I'll talk about the day that we landed in France!! So, we flew in to Charles De Gauelle in Paris at about 9:00am and went straight from the airport to our hotel. We met our guide Kate who knew an abundance of information about the sites of Paris and much of it's history as well. On the bus ride to our hotel, we caught our first glimpse of the infamous Eiffel Tower! It was just as beautiful as i had expected, if not more! We headed straight out for some authentic Parisian food and ended up at a small cafe just around the corner from our hotel where we had, in my opinion, the best cheese pizza I have ever tasted! After this, we got dressed into our formal uniforms and headed out for some site seeing. As we drove along the pretty streets of Paris, we were told about some of the sites we were seeing: Napoleon's Tomb, The Gardens, The Arc De Triomphe and the Paris eye. We also got out of the bus at the very famous Louvre! It was such an amazing feeling being somewhere that held so much knowledge about the past of France. We also went to a lovely church which was crowded with masses of people all lining up to get through and see it. The Highlight of the day was definitely going to the Australian Embassy (which overlooked the Eiffel Tower) to meet the Governor, The Ambassador, Mrs Hurley along with other dignitaries who will be also attending the Fromelles Centenary Commemoration Ceremonies and also getting to try out some French dishes and other delectables. Today was such an amazing day and I will never forget being able to see the Eiffel Tower up close or getting to meet such important people at the embassy. So, here are some photos of the things we did and saw, I hope you enjoy. Until my next update...
